Favourable Attitudes Towards Serosorting Are Associated with Overall Less Frequent Condom Use among Young Black Men Having Sex Men

This study determined whether YBMSM endorsing serosorting are less likely to use condoms.

A questionnaire assessed men's attitudes towards serosorting with a three-item scale; various sexual risk behaviours were measured using a 90-day recall period. Favourable attitudes toward serosorting were associated with a greater likelihood of condomless sex as a top and as a bottom, as well as a lower likelihood of using condoms with main partners.

Findings suggest that YBMSM having favourable attitudes toward serosorting may be more likely to report condomless sex than their counterparts without favourable attitudes.
